Myrtle E. Laubenstein, 89


Myrtle E. Laubenstein (nee Groth) was taken to her eternal home on Monday, Aug. 12, 2013, at the age of 89 years.

Myrtle was born on Feb. 9, 1924, to the late Erwin and Beata (Heidtke) Groth in Grafton, where she was raised. She met Elmer Laubenstein and they were married at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cedarburg. They resided in the town of Saukville. She worked at Doer Electric and Emerson (both in Cedarburg) for many years and was a member of St. Johns Ladies Auxiliary and also enjoyed singing in the choir.

Myrtle is survived by her children, Sandra (Tom) Biedenbender of Mission, S.D., Beverly Laubenstein of West Bend, and Dennis (Janice) Laubenstein of Bear Creek. Her grandchildren, Brett (Jody) Biedenbender, Paul (Teresa) Biedenbender, Amy Biedenbender, Teresa Laubenstein, Tanya (Ben) Held and Travis Laubenstein. Her great grandchildren, Brad, Mark and Kari Biedenbender, Jazmine Biedenbender, and Aren and Parker Held. She is further survived by two sisters, Lillian Kohlwey of Cedarburg, Doris Cram of Thiensville; and her sister-in-law, Norma Groth of Grafton. Myrtle is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Elmer, her two sisters, Ethel Denow and Mae Cram, and one brother, Franklin Groth.

A funeral service for Myrtle will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 16, 2013, at St. Johnís Ev. Lutheran Church (623 Congress St., Newburg, WI 53060) with professor Daniel Leyrer officiating. Visitation for Myrtle is from 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. at the church. Interment will follow at the St. Johnís Lutheran Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers memorials to St. Johns Ev. Lutheran Church (623 Congress St., Newburg, WI 53060) and Kettle Moraine Lutheran School (3399 Division Road, Jackson, WI 53037) appreciated.
