Margaret M. DuCharme, nee Ploederl, of the town of Farmington, passed
away peacefully on her 96th birthday, Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013, at The
Kathy Hospice. She was born on Aug. 21, 1917, in Manitowoc to Joseph and
On Sept. 21, 1940, she was united in marriage to Lovell “Red” DuCharme
in Los Angeles. Red predeceased March 13, 1997, after more than 56 years
For more than 40 years, Margaret worked at Serigraph, Inc., retiring at
the age of 82.
She enjoyed all of the big family gatherings held at her home throughout
the years. Margaret was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and later a
proud grandmother and great-grandmother who took delight in being around
Survivors include four children, Peggie (Bob) Hoch of Apollo, Pa.,
Richard (Mary) of Kewaskum, Sue (David) Flynn of Kewaskum and David
(Jodi) of Kewaskum; seven grandchildren, Lori (Scott) Stonecipher, Mike
Hoch (fiancé Amy Poydence), Jason Flynn, Janel (Steve) Olson, Lindsey
and Kaylee DuCharme and Jason Brownlee; 10 great-grandchildren, Erin and
Erik Stoneciper, Mariah Flynn, Jack, Elliana and Audrey Olson, and Emma,
Lauren, Meg and Madeline Brownlee; one sister Helen Dubey of Manitowoc;
one sister-in-law Theresa DuCharme of West Bend; and nieces, nephews,
other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one
daughter, Bonnie, one grandson, Bobby Hoch, one great-grandson, Ryan
Hoch and one sister, Oriet.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, Aug. 23 at 5
p.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 8883 Forest View Road, Kewaskum.
The family will greet relatives and friends at the church only on Friday
from 2-4:45 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, Masses or memorials to The Kathy Hospice or The
Threshold Sheltered Workshop are appreciated.
Margaret’s family would like to offer special thanks to the staff at The
Kathy Hospice, especially Katie, Christel, Amber, Sr. Donna and Debbie
for their tender care for Mom and the family.
