F. Bonlender, 83
F. Bonlender (nee Weninger), 83, of West Bend died Friday, Dec. 6, 2013,
at the Kathy Hospice. She was born April 6, 1930, to the late Raymond and
Catherine (nee Zuern) Weninger and married Lester O. Bonlender on March 1,
1949, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in St. Anthony. Lester preceded her
in death on March 14, 1999.
Following their marriage they lived in Horicon before settling in West
Bend in 1951. She was employed as a nurses’ aid at the Samaritan Home
for many years and worked at the West Bend Elevator as a secretary. Gloria
volunteered as a Pink Lady at St. Joseph’s Community Hospital, served as
the president of the Ladies Guild at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church
and was a member of the Women of the Moose.
Gloria enjoyed playing softball, bowling, fishing, dancing, playing cards
Gloria is survived by three sons: Gary (Linda) of Burnsville, Minn., Glenn
(Denise) of Hartford and Greg (Cheryl) of West Bend; nine grandchildren:
Kimberly McDonald, Mandie (Dave) Huggins, Kerri (Chad) Ostrom, Chad
Bonlender, Cory Bonlender, Kayla Bonlender, Jennifer (Justin)
Wilkins, Scott (Nicole) Bonlender and Tyler Bonlender; and eight
great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her loving companion of 13
years Ralph Wenzlaff of West Bend; her sister Lila Stahl of West Bend; two
sisters-inlaw Armina Wach of Waubeka and Rosemary Bonlender of Allenton;
and nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Catherine; her
husband Lester Bonlender; her grandson Kyle Bonlender; her sister Angeline
(Jerome) Kandel; and her brothers-in-law Allen Stahl, Aloy Wach and Marvin
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, Dec. 9, 2013, at 10:30
a.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church with the Rev. Gerald Brittain
presiding. Entombment will follow in Washington County Memorial Park.
Visitation will be Sunday, Dec. 8 from 4-7 p.m. at the Schmidt Funeral
Home in West Bend and also Monday, at the church from 9:30-10:15 a.m.
