Belva Zocher-Burke, 71

Belva Zocher-Burke (Schmolze) graduated and ascended on Dec. 27th, 2013, at the age of 71. Beloved mother of Dr. Kent (Stacy) and doctoral candidate Joella (Tricia) Zocher and unwaveringly proud grandma of Tanner and Tessa Zocher, Belva is also survived by her siblings Diane (John) Schmidt of Kansas City, Kan., Alan (Jeanette) Schmolze of Minneapolis, Glen (Nancy) Schmolze of Augusta, S.C., and Orin Schmolze of Wagner, Okla., and their families.

Preceded in death by husbands Elroy Zocher and John ‘Mike’ Burke, three sisters, two brothers and her parents.

Belva’s heart of gold warmed every room she entered, evident through her work as an AODA counselor and her many volunteer experiences. Her radiance will be missed by countless friends and community members. Come make a joyful noise in Belva’s honor on Saturday, Jan. 4, at St. James Episcopal Church, 148 S. Eighth Ave., West Bend, WI 53095. The service will start at 2 p.m. followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. James Episcopal Church or Escuela Verde of Milwaukee.

To thine own self be true.

The Schmidt Funeral Home of West Bend is serving the family. Online guestbook and condolences available at www.schmidtfuneralhome.com.
