Louise Roth, 96
Louise Roth passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013.
Louise and her husband, John, resided in their home in West Bend
throughout their wonderful marriage of over 36 years. She began her life
in West Bend with her marriage to Ellsworth Harth in 1939. He preceded
her in death in 1952. In 1954, Louise married Maurice Schloemer. He
preceded her in death in 1968.
Louise was an active Christian Scientist throughout her adult life,
serving in many positions in her local church. She was a member of the
West Bend Woman’s Club for over 50 years and a long-time member of P.E.O.
Chapter BV.
She was born in Marshfield on Oct. 23, 1916, to Noah and Minnie Ropp.
She graduated from DePere High School and worked for the West Bend
Company for several years.
Louise was the loving mother of four children, Eloise “Penny”
Fitzsimmons, Thomas (Joan) Schloemer, John (Marcia) Harth; James
(Andrea) Schloemer; and two stepchildren, John (Kathy) Roth, Jr. and
Ginnie (Jerry) Overzet. She was adored by her grandchildren, Jeff
(Keller) Fitzsimmons, Jill Fitzsimmons, Barbara Fitzsimmons, Laurie
(Mike) Aleven, Sue (John) Bussey, Mike (Erin) Schloemer, Justin (Maggie)
Harth, Travis Harth, Tyler Harth, Andy (Sandy) Doyle, Tommy Schloemer,
Tessa Schloemer, David Roth, Mike Roth, Rick (Stephanie) Roth, Kevin
Roth, Todd (Laura) Overzet, and Julie (Brent) Thomas. Louise was also
very proud of her 22 exceptional great-grandchildren.
She loved her sisters, Thelma Emery, Helen Johnson, Frances Dreier;
brothers, Norbert and the Rev. Robert Ropp; her sisters and
brothers-in-law; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.
Louise was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; her son,
Thomas; her brother, Norbert; and her three sisters.
Funeral services in remembrance of Louise will be held on Saturday, Feb.
16, at 2 p.m. at Fifth Avenue United Methodist Church, 323 S. Fifth
Ave., West Bend with the Rev. Jeremy Deaner officiating. A reception
will follow the service. Private family burial will take place in
Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to West Bend Community and Alumni
Scholarship Foundation Inc. are appreciated by the family.
