Schloemer, 97
Margaret E. Schloemer, nee Thoma, 97, of West Bend died peacefully on
Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, at Serenity Villa in Slinger. She was born on Oct.
22, 1915, in the Town of Farmington to the late Philip P. and Anna L.
(nee Bingen) Thoma.
On Dec. 29, 1943, she married Robert H. Schloemer at St. Mary’s
Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in the former Village of Barton.
Robert predeceased May 27, 1974.
Margaret was a life-long resident of the area. She and her husband
raised their family in West Bend. For many years, she worked as the
bookkeeper at Sentry Foods.
She was a long-time volunteer, including area food pantries and at the
Threshold Sheltered Workshop. Margaret was a kind and gentle soul who
will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include four children Jane (Robert) Clare of Glendale, Peter
(Pat) of West Bend, Mary (Bob Pietsch) of Slinger and John (Nancy) of
West Bend; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren: Kimberly
(Kevin) Horvatin and their children Abigail and Allison; Jeffrey (Shana)
Schloemer and their children Alexandra and Colin; Kevin (Jacqueline)
Schloemer and their children Owen and Wyatt; Brad Schloemer; Jennifer
Schloemer; Michelle (Matthew) McManus and their children Gavin and
Margaret; Andrew (Anne) Jones and their children Noah and Caleb; and
Gregory Jones; one sister-in-law Marie Thoma of West Bend; nieces,
nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one
son Paul, one grandson Steven Jones, one brother Alfred Thoma and, two
sisters Marie Gessert and Helen Walter.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 6, at 6:30
p.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church. The family will greet relatives
during a period of visitation at the church only on Wednesday from
4:30-6:15 p.m. Burial will be Thursday at 10 a.m. in Washington County
Memorial Park The family has requested memorials to the Threshold
Sheltered Workshop, Holy Angels Parish or to the charity of the donor’s
choice.
Margaret’s family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff
at Serenity Villa in Slinger for their compassionate care and kindness
while she lived there. The family also thanks the physicians and staff
in the Intensive Care Unit at Aurora Medical Center Washington County in
Hartford and to the staff and volunteers of Horizon Home Care and
Hospice.
