Trygve B. Bergseth,
Trygve B. Bergseth, 87, of West Bend died on Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, at the Heritage Health and Rehabilitation Center in Port Washington. He was born on March 13, 1925, in Starkweather, N.D. to the late John and Sverina (nee Myklebust) Bergseth.
During World War II, he served with the United States Navy in the Pacific Theater. Following his discharge, he returned to North Dakota. After his marriage to June B. Priebe on Sept. 28, 1945, they settled in Devils Lake, N.D. The family later settled in Minot, N.D. In the late 1970s, he moved to Wisconsin, settling in Washington County.
While in the West Bend area, he worked as a maintenance man with Cedar Community and also was employed at the Unity Club and Tennies Hardware.
Survivors include three children Emily (Gilbert) Krueger of West Bend, Lila (Tom) Weltikol of Minot, N.D., Trygve, Jr. (Beth Almazan) of Gilbert, Ariz.; one daughter-in-law Chris Bergseth of Wauwatosa; eight grandchildren Glenn Krueger, Melisa (John) Martin, Thomas Weltikol, Andrea (Jason) Mattern, Jeremy Weltikol, Elijah (Nikki) Bergseth, Ashley (Chris) Sundsbak and Kristen Weltikol; nine great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law Lena Bergseth of Bath, S.D.; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife June on Feb. 3, 1979, one son Edward, three brothers Albert, Melvern and Selmar, and a special friend Vivian Bowman.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Feb. 8, at 2 p.m. at the Schmidt Funeral Home in West Bend with burial following in Washington County Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday from noon-1:45 p.m.
