87
Lorena Henrietta Tuttle, 87, formerly of Elmore passed away peacefully
on Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013 at the Beechwood Rest Home.
She was born on Aug. 16, 1925 in Kewaskum, the daughter of the late Hugo
and Henrietta Ruthberg Vorpahl. She was baptized in September 1925 at
St. Lucas Lutheran Church, Kewaskum. She attended Kewaskum Grade School
and was confirmed in June 1939 by the Rev. Kanies at St. Lucas. She
worked at Regalware from 1943 to September 1949 at which time she
married Gary C. Tuttle at St. Lucas, Kewaskum, by the Rev. Kanies. From
1949 until Gary started at Regalware, she worked with her husband
farming. In 1965 they moved to Elmore where she lived until 2006 when
she moved to the Beechwood Rest Home.
Lorena is survived by two sisters, Pearl (Francis) Tuttle of
Campbellsport and Sally Knoelke of Cascade, nieces, nephews, other
relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband on Feb.
2, 2002, her son Charles, her brother Willard Vorpahl, her sisters
in-law Rose Vorpahl, Catherine Meilke, Caroline Tuttle, Mae Engelman and
Bernice Tuttle, and her brothers-in-law Elwyn Tuttle, Edward Tuttle,
Adolph Engelman and Arnold Knoelke.
Visitation was held Wednesday, Feb. 6 from noon-2 p.m. at St. Lucas
Lutheran Church, 1410 Parkview Drive, Kewaskum. Services followed at 2
p.m. at the church. The Rev. Troy Swenson officiated and burial followed
in Lutheran Memorial Cemetery, Kewaskum. Memorials are appreciated to
St. Lucas Lutheran Church.
