Gertrude Milner,
104
Gertrude Milner (nee Goodanetz), age 104, of Hartford, passed away on
Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013, at Serenity Villa in Slinger.
Gertrude was born on April 22, 1908, in Riga, Latvia, to Adam and Maria
(nee Petkel) Goodanetz. She was united in marriage to Edmund Milner on
June 24, 1938 in Toronto, Canada.
She worked for Chrysler for more than 25 years. Gertrude loved baking,
gardening, sewing and traveling. She lived for and loved her family
dearly. Gertrude was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church.
Gertrude is survived by her son Ronald (Barbara) Milner of Hartford; her
daughters-in-law Sue Milner and Ione Sarafiny, both of Hartford; two
grandchildren, Joseph (Julie) Milner and Amy (Glen) Hageman; and four
great-grandchildren, Emily, Joe, Colin and Eli. She is further survived
by other relatives and friends here, in Canada and in Latvia. Gertrude
was preceded in death by her husband Edmund, and her sons Joseph and
Edmund Milner. Mass of Christian Burial for Gertrude will be held on
Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at 11 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church, 200 E.
Washington St., Slinger, with Father Richard Stoffel officiating. The
family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Saturday from
9-11 a.m.
Inurnment will be in Old St. Peter Catholic Cemetery in Slinger at a
later date.
The family extends a special thank you to the staff of Serenity Villa
for the love and care they gave to our mother.
