Bergdorf, 88 Charles W. Bergdorf, 88, of Wausaukee, passed away peacefully on
Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013. Charlie is survived by his sons Jerome
(Barbara) Bergdorf of West Bend, Stephen (Donna Mae) Bergdorf of
Watertown, David (Rona) Bergdorf of West Bend, Eric Bergdorf of Fifield,
daughter Holly (Jeff) Haley of Arlington, Va, grandchildren Charles
Bergdorf, Denise Bergdorf, Stephen Bergdorf, Shannon Bergdorf, Candy
Bergdorf-Merlino, Corey Bergdorf, Sam Bergdorf, Michael Bergdorf, John
Bergdorf, step-grandchildren Nikki Kardaris DeVries, James Kardaris,
Traci (David) Skolaski and Jon (Connie) Kohlmetz. Charlie is also
survived by seventeen great-grandchildren, two
great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. Preceded in
death by his parents William and Pauline Burgdorf, brother William
Burgdorf, sister Josephine Zawin and an infant sibling in 1929. Charlie
married Bernice DeMars on May 29, 1948, in Park Falls and had five
children together. He retired as an over the road truck driver and
worked on the Alaska-Canadian (ALCAN) Highway before enlisting in the
Army, where he served as an MP before being honorably discharged.Funeral services for Charlie will be held at Pagenkopf Funeral Home in Oconomowoc on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at 1 p.m. Visitation for family and friends will take place from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Military honors will immediately follow the service. T he family would like to thank the staff at Newcare Convalescent Center in Crivitz, WI for the excellent care given to Charlie over the last 6 1/2 years, where he enjoyed many special friendships.
