Kannenberg, 94
Harlin Kannenberg, age 94 years, of the town of Jackson, passed away
Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at Lasata Care Center in Cedarburg, where he had
been a resident for the past nine months. He was born April 9, 1918, in
the town of Jackson, son of the late Edwin and Anna Kaschner Kannenberg.
On June 27, 1942, he married Helen Fromm at Immanuel Lutheran Church in
Cedarburg. The couple farmed in the town of Jackson until retiring in
the mid 1990s. Harlin was an active lifelong member of David’s Star
Lutheran Church in the town of Jackson, having served on numerous church
committees, including the school board. Mr. Kannenberg was a former
member of the Washington County Farm Bureau. He enjoyed playing
sheepshead, dancing, going to farm auctions, and visiting weekly with
family and friends. Survivors include his wife, Helen, two children
Carol (Ted) Meyer of Saukville and James (Anne) Kannenberg of Jackson,
his son by friendship Daniel (Mary) Kaschner of Jackson, his grandson
Russell Kannenberg of Jackson, his brother Jerome (Lucille) Kannenberg
of Apache Junction, Ariz., one niece, five nephews, other relatives and
friends. Visitation will be Feb. 15 from 1- 3 p.m. at David’s Star
Lutheran Church, 2740 David’s Star Drive, Jackson, followed by services
at 3 p.m. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers,
memorials to David’s Star Lutheran Church or School appreciated. Special
thanks to the staff at Lasata Care Center and Heartland Hospice for
their compassionate and loving care.
