Alan H. Buttke, 62


Alan H. Buttke, 62, of West Bend, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013, at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee. He was born on April 4, 1950, in Black River Falls to the late Harry and Donnah (nee Larson) Buttke. Al served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He lived in Jackson before moving to West Bend in 1978.

He worked at Schlief’s, Goodyear Tire, and Wallas Wheel & Tire as a mechanic. Al was a member of the American Motors Car Club and raced cars at Slinger Speedway and Great Lakes Dragway. He also enjoyed playing the electric guitar. Al is survived by his son, Dean (fiancée, Cassi Griepentrog) Buttke of Slinger; his sister, Alana (Leslie) Dalton of West Bend; and other relatives and friends.

A memorial service in remembrance of Al will be held on Monday, Feb. 18, at 2:30 p.m. at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, 1315 W. Washington St., West Bend. The Rev. Jeremy Deaner will be officiating.
