Roger F. Krell, 76


Roger F. Krell, 76, of West Bend died on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, at The Kathy Hospice. He was born on Sept. 26, 1936, in Newburg to the late Sylvester and Dorothy (nee Monday) Krell.

After graduating from West Bend High School with the class of 1954, be started working for Mercury Marine. He then volunteered for the draft and was drafted into the United States Army, serving during the Korean Conflict. Following his discharge, he returned to Newburg and resumed working at Mercury Marine.

On Sept. 5, 1964, he was united in marriage to Judith Strenke at Holy Angels Catholic Church. The couple made their home in West Bend.

In 1998, he retired from Mercury Marine after more than 43 years of loyal service.

He was a member of the 1954 class reunion committee, member and past president for 13 years of the Newburg Lions Club, member of the Newburg Fire Department Athletic Club and was a member for more than 55 years of the Newburg Fire Department.

Survivors include his wife Judith; two brothers Ronald of West Bend and Ellis of West Bend; one sister Mary Rose (Donald A.) Smith of West Bend; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his parents-in-law Joseph and Emily Strenke and one sister-in-law Jane Casper.

At the familyís request, private services will be held.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Rogerís name to the Newburg Fire Department, the Newburg Fire Department Athletic Club or the Newburg Lions Club.
