Audrey E. Keppler,
E. Keppler (nee Barber), 89, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013.
Audrey was born on Oct. 31, 1923, in Milwaukee to Walter and Loretta
(nee Mayworm) Barber. She married Raymond Keppler on Feb. 13, 1943, at
St. Agnes Catholic Church in Milwaukee. They moved to West Bend in 1965.
They later became owner/operators of Keppler’s Snack Shack in Barton.
Audrey and Ray ran the restaurant for several years. Audrey was a proud
homemaker and an active member of Holy Angels Catholic Church, where she
was involved with Christian Mothers and Altar Society.
Audrey is survived by her children Carol (Nick) Ueber, Barbara (Michael)
Anderson, Christine (Stephen) VanderBloemen, David (Sarah) Keppler, Ann
(the late Buddy) Dricken, Mary (Scott) Walters; 14 grandchildren; and 21
great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her sisters Loretta
Dittmer, Carol Berres, Jo Ann (Jim) Driscoll; and sister-inlaw Nancy
Barber. Audrey is preceded in death by her husband Raymond; parents
Walter and Loretta; sister Bernice (John) Unterholzner; and brother
William Barber. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Audrey will be
at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013 at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 138
N. Eighth Ave. in West Bend with the Rev. Gerald Brittain presiding.
Gathering will take place at the church from 3-4:45 p.m. on Thursday,
Feb. 28, 2013. Interment of cremains will take place at Wisconsin
Memorial Park in Brookfield.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to Pro-Life Wisconsin
Education Task Force (POWETF, Attn: Bonnie, 19270 North Hills Drive,
Brookfield, WI 53045).
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nursing staff
and caregivers at Cedar Lake Health and Rehabilitation Center for their
care and compassion for Audrey during her stay.
