Dorena
Truebenbach, nee Binder, 93, of Random Lake, formerly of the town of
Fredonia, passed away Friday, Feb. 22, 201,3 at Gables on the Pond in
Random Lake. She was born on Feb. 5, 1920, in the town of Scott to the
late Edwin and Alma (nee Moos) Binder. She was united in marriage to
Alfred Truebenbach on June 8, 1940, at St. Martin’s Church in Fillmore.
After their marriage, the couple lived and farmed in the town of
Fredonia until 1969 and then they moved to Waubeka. Alfred passed away
on Jan. 17, 1987. In December 2010 Dorena moved to the Gables on the
Pond in Random Lake.
Dorena was a member of St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Random Lake and
had formerly been a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in
Waubeka. She was a member of the Royal Neighbors of America for over 75
years. She also enjoyed cake decorating and gardening.
She is survived by her son, Donald (Sandra) Truebenbach of Fredonia; two
granddaughters, Paula (Jeff) Igel of Greenville, and Janet (Brian) Giese
of Port Washington; four great-grandchildren, Cassie Igel, Jake Igel,
Ashley Giese, and Austin Giese; a sister-in-law, Joyce Doll of Oshkosh;
and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a sister, Evelyn
Kraetsch, and a brother, Lyle Binder.
A funeral service in remembrance of Dorena will be held on Saturday,
March 2, at 4 p.m. at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, 1315 W. Washington
St., West Bend. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday from
2 p.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in Waubeka Union
Cemetery on Monday at 10 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to St. Paul’s Lutheran
Church or the Wisconsin Firefighters Memorial.
