Catherine L. Justman (nee Harger) age 76, of West Bend, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at Cedar Lake Health & Rehabilitation Center in West Bend. She was born on March 13, 1936, in Union City, Mich., to the late Floyd and Ruth (nee Johnson) Harger. In 1948, Cathy moved to West Bend with her family. She attended Oak Knoll School, currently Ye Olde Schoolhouse, a one room schoolhouse for two years. Cathy graduated from West Bend High School in the class of 1954. On Aug. 21, 1954, she was united in marriage to Harold A. Justman at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, West Bend.

Cathy worked as a secretary for several businesses over the years. She also taught music at Dave’s Music Center, Mathis Music Center and at home to many in the West Bend area.

Cathy was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, St. John’s Folk Choir “Sing Praise Choir” and played guitar. She was also a member of V.F.W. Fred A. Schaefer Post No. 1393 Ladies Auxiliary.

She enjoyed many types of music, both playing and listening. Cathy also enjoyed playing cards, knitting, crocheting, as well as making floral arrangements, ceramics, macramé, candy cakes and many crafts.

Cathy is survived by her husband, Harold of West Bend; four children, Steven (Laurie) Justman of West Bend, Jodi (John) Krueger of Kewaskum, Lisa (Christopher) Heying of Waunakee and Michelle (fiancée, Mike Buchta) Mc Allister of Watertown; eight grandchildren, Amanda (Nicholas) Johanek, Ryan Justman, Megan Justman, Jacki (Trevor) Jorgensen, Brittany (fiancée, Brian Murphy) Kissinger, Abby Heying, Erica Heying and Courtney McAllister; two great-grandchildren, Riley and Alaina Jorgensen; one sister, Alice (John) Webb of Lake City, Fla.; one brother, Duane (Betty) Harger of Crossville, Tenn.; sister-inlaw, Florence Kissinger of West Bend; brother-in-law, Howard (Mildred) Justman of West Bend; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Richard Harger; brother in-law, Harry Kissinger; and parents-in-law, Russell and Minnie Justman.

A memorial service in remembrance of Cathy will be held on Thursday, Jan. 10, at 6:30 p.m. at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church, 809 S. 6th Ave., West Bend. Pastor Jeff Dorth will officiate. Visitation will be at the church on Thursday from 4:30 p.m. until the time of the service.
