Marie Buch, 79

Marie was born on Aug. 19, 1915, in Barton, to Joseph and Frances (nee
Halamka) Kachelmeier. She was one of 10 children and her family owned
and operated the Kachelmeier Bakery, in Slinger, for many years.
On May 14, 1940, she married Nicholas Buch at St. Peter’s Catholic
Church, Slinger. Together, they raised their family, operated Standard
Auto Service, and shared their lives until Nick’s death on Feb. 5, 1977.
Most of Marie’s life was spent as a Slinger resident, but her later
years were lived outside of Wisconsin, in Madison, Ala. She was a
talented writer, something she pursued throughout her life, and was
always excited to learn something new. Her gentleness, adventurous
spirit, and caring ways will be missed by all who loved her.
Marie is survived by her sons, Gerard Paul (Debbie), Joseph (Christine)
and Richard Buch. She is grandmother to Kevin Buch, Anne (Sean) Moore,
Beth (Dennis) Christensen and Christopher (Andrea Babineau) Buch.

Christensen. She is further survived by a sister, Rita Nichols, of
Billings, Mont. and a sister-in-law, Ethel Kachelmeier, of Mesa, Ariz.,
along with many nieces, nephew, relatives and friends. She is preceded
by her husband, an infant son, George, siblings Joseph, Al and Laddie
Kachelmeier, Julie Ann, Veronica Dupont, sisters Limana, Anne and
JoMarie Kachelmeier OSF.
