Elizabeth “Betty” Wilson Ward, 78, of Nebo, passed away peacefully on Friday, Jan. 11, 2013. She was born July 8, 1934 in Muirkirk, Scotland to the late David and Elizabeth Wilson.

Mrs. Ward was employed for 29 years with West Bend Company in Wisconsin as a supervisor and for many years with Bill Griffith’s Jewelry. She enjoyed reading, knitting and especially spending time with her family.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Willard Ward, and a great grandchild, Olivia Young.

Mrs. Ward leaves behind to cherish her memory, a daughter, Lesley Ward of Nebo, N.C., and a son Tony Ward and wife, Lori of Tomahawk; grandchildren: Stacey Young, Justin Oreskovic and Brandon Ward; great grandchildren: Skyler Young, Rylee Young, Grayson Oreskovic, Isabella Williamson and Chloe Medford; four sisters, Margaret Rocke of Coventry, England, Jean Schlecht and husband, Dave of Glendale, Ariz., Marion Schlecht and husband Dan of Parker, Ariz., and Doreen Swanson and husband, Wayne of Hendersonville, Nev.; and a brother David Wilson and wife, Toni of Yorba Linda, Calif.

A celebration of Betty’s life will be held privately for the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials should be made to the Ward family, c/o 143 Jesse Lane, Nebo, NC 28761.
