Lucille Roecker, 92


Lucille Roecker, nee Rosenthal, 92, of Prineville, Ore., formerly of the town of Barton, passed away Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013.

She was born on Oct. 8, 1920, in the town of Barton to the late Otto and Martha (nee Meinhardt) Roecker. She was united in marriage to Roland Roecker of Feb. 12, 1944, at Immanuel United Church of Christ in West Bend. In 1948 the couple moved to Tucson, Ariz. Roland passed away on Feb. 7, 1986. After Roland passed away, Lucille moved to Oregon.

Lucille loved traveling to visit her family. She enjoyed crocheting and giving the afghans that she made to relatives, friends, and nursing homes. She also enjoyed playing cards, especially sheepshead. She was a member of the Lioness Club and Women of the Moose.

She is survived by two sons, James (Barbara) Roecker of Washington, and Robert (Wendy) Roecker of Arizona; four grandchildren, Aaron (Tanya) Roecker of Oregon, Raymond (Holly) Roecker of Oregon, Ryan (Nancy) Roecker of Colorado, and Shannon (David) Smits of Arizona; 13 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; two brothers-in-law, Raymond (Lucille) Roecker of Fond du Lac, and Harold (Carol) Roecker of West Bend; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Roland, and a brother-in-law, Ludwig (Bernetta) Roecker. A funeral service in remembrance of Lucille will be held on Friday, Jan. 18, at 11 a.m. at the Myrhum Patten Funeral Home, 1315 W. Washington St., West Bend. Burial will follow in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
