Patrick W. Nelson,
63
Patrick “Pat” W. Nelson, 63, of Port Washington, died Tuesday evening,
Jan. 22, 2013, at his residence.
He was born June 23, 1949, in Port Washington, son of George and Irene
Lorge Nelson, both who preceded him in death. Pat was a 1967 graduate of
Port Washington High School and served four years in the U.S. Marine
Corps. While serving as a Military Police guard, he was assigned to the
presidential detail at the California residence of President Nixon.
After returning home, he worked at Cook Composites & Polymers in
Saukville until retiring in 2011. He was a lifetime member of Van Ells-Schanen
American Legion in Port Washington, the Leathernecks Club, the Marine
Corps League and UAW Local 1548. He was a longtime Boy Scout leader for
Troop 837 and also served as assistant district commissioner for Bay
Lakes Council.
Survivors include his children, Scott (Erika) Nelson of Simpsonville,
S.C., and Stacie Nelson of Port Washington; his grandson, Reed Haas of
Port Washington; his sister, Diane Schlueter of Port Washington; special
friend, Amy Zagar; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, other
relatives and friends.
A celebration of Pat’s life will be held on Monday, Jan. 28, at 7 p.m.
at Eernisse Funeral Home, Port Washington. Visitation will be held from
5 p.m. to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Disabled Veterans Fish
Outing are appreciated. Eernisse Funeral Home is assisting the family.
