William N. Doehling,
William N. Doehling, 86, of West Bend, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013, at Cedar Lake Health and Rehabilitation Center in West Bend. He was born on Oct. 21, 1926, in Milwaukee to the late William E. and Viola (nee Schmunn) Doehling. He attended Milwaukee Lutheran High School. On Oct. 21, 1972, Bill was united in marriage to Doris Johnson at Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Wauwatosa. Together they made Wauwatosa their home until 1993 when they moved to Cedar Village in West Bend. Doris preceded Bill in death on Dec. 2, 2000.
He served his country honorably in the Army Air Corps during World War II and went on to work for the former Shadbolt and Boyd Tool Company in Milwaukee as a salesman, retiring in 1987.
Bill was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Slinger and a former member of Mt. Carmel Lutheran Church in Milwaukee and Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Wauwatosa, and Sons of Norway – Fosselyngen Lodge #82 in Milwaukee.
Bill is survived by his two children, Kathy (Dale) Reichert of Watertown and Gordon Robinson of Greendale; three grandchildren, Karie (Tony) Wheatley, Andy (April) Reichert, Josh (Denise) Reichert; three great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Brenna Wheatley and Carter Reichert; one sister, Karla (Donald) Lund of Hartland; sister-in-law, Doris Johnson of Tacoma, Wash.; special and close friend, Glenn Bettenhausen of West Bend; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Bill was preceded in death, by his parents; wife, Doris; sister and her husband, Anita and the Rev. Chuck Chaviet; and brother in-law, Edward Johnson.
A memorial service in remembrance of Bill will be held on Monday, Jan. 28, at 7 p.m. at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 4860 Arthur Road, Slinger. Visitation will be Monday at the church from 6 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial of his cremated remains will be in Pinelawn Memorial Park in Milwaukee.
