“Al” B. Wilhelmi joined his Redeemer on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, at the
age of 84 years. Al is dearly missed and survived by his sisterin- law
Betty Wilhelmi. Dearly loved uncle of Mark (Linda) Wilhelmi, Barbara
Gibbs, Connie (Tim) Rohrer, Jean (Wayne) Grosklaus, Kathleen Maas, David
(Karen) Steckhahn, Mark (Harriet Pfersch) Steckhahn, Amy (Paul) Carlsen,
great-nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, and further
survived by other relatives and many friends. Special friend of Monica
Bartley, Howard and Mavis Lang, and the 6 a.m. Mass Group at the
Basilica of Holy Hill. Al is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and
Katherine (nee Muck) Wilhelmi, his sister Bernadette (Walter) Steckhahn,
his brother Leonard, and special dogs, Hans and Red.
Al was a longtime faithful volunteer and supporter of St. Mary of the
Hill and the Basilica of Holy Hill. He retired in 1992 from the
Wisconsin Gas Co. after 40 years of service. Al was also a former member
of the West Bend Aqua Diving Club of West Bend. Al was a special, loving
son to his mother, caring for her in her final years. He was always
ready to give a helping hand and support to his family and friends. Al
will be sadly missed, but his deep and abiding faith assures us that he
now sings with the angels.
Wake will be from 10-11:45 a.m. at the Basilica of Holy Hill-St. Therese
Chapel, 1525 Carmel Road, town of Erin, on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, with
the Rev. Fred Alexander presiding. A Memorial Mass of Resurrection will
be at noon on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013. Interment will be at St. Augustine
Cemetery in the town of Erin at a later date. Please omit flowers.
