Merrill K. Pulliam,
Merrill K. Pulliam, of Cedarburg, formerly LaGrange, Ill., found peace Saturday, June 1, 2013, at the age of 101 and a half years.
He was the beloved husband for 55 years of the late Claire Ann (nee Russett); loving father of Michael (Kay) and Robert (Jean); proud grandfather of Christian, Katherine (Erik) Bangtson, David, Kortney, Heather (Gil) Sharp, Bryon, Tyler, Adam and Alison; and great-grandfather of Mason, Maxwell, Devin, Jackson, Matthew and Tess. He is further survived by other loving relatives and many friends.
Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, June 5, at 1 p.m. at Ozaukee Congregational Church, 1140 Lakefield Road, Grafton. The family will receive friends following the service. Burial will be private for the family in Illinois.

In 1946, Merrill started working as a buyer for the E. W. Kneip Co. and retired in 1976 as the chairman and CEO of the company. After his retirement, from 1976 until 1983, he served as the assistant to the president of the American Meat Institute. For 21 years, Merrill volunteered at Hinsdale Hospital. He became Man of the Year in Forest Park, Ill., in 1975 and was given the key to the city in 1976, while also earning the Chamber of Commerce Award and the Citizen and Youth Group Award. From 1975 until 1984, Merrill served as a trustee of Cornell College, becoming a life trustee in 1984. He was a member of LaGrange Pet Parade Committee and was also on the board of directors for Peter Eckrich & Sons, Fulton Cold Storage, E.W. Kneip and Mid-West Meat Dealers Associations.
