Ramon “Bud” Schmidt of Grafton passed away on Friday, June 7, 2013, at Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home, Ark., at the age of 85.
Bud was born in Wittenberg on Aug. 24, 1927, to Walter and Ida (nee Zahn) Schmidt and married Beatrice “Bea” (nee Wagner) on July 28, 1951, at Memorial Lutheran Church in Milwaukee.
Bud was an owner/operator truck driver for Chief Trucking. He was a longtime active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Grafton. He also was a member of the Sheboygan Accordion Club and graduated from Red Wing Technical College in Red Wing, Minn., on May 29, 1992, with a degree in accordion repair.
He is survived by his children, David (Doris) of Grafton, Daniel (Donna) of Flippin, Ark., and Diane (Andy) Schumann of Fredonia; grandchildren, Jennifer (Marcus) Walser of Flippin, Ark., Jason Schmidt of Summit, Ark., Erin Schmidt of Grafton, Melissa (Ryan) Neitzel of Milwaukee, Katherine Schmidt of Grafton, Tim Schumann of Fredonia, Michelle Schumann of Fredonia and Robert Schumann of Fredonia; great-grandchildren, Madeline Schmidt and Maylin Walser of Flippin, Ark.; and sister, Dejon (Eugene) Wagner of Milwaukee. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bea; and grandson, Matthew Ramon Schumann.
Funeral services will be held today, June 13, 2013, at 1 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 701 Washington St., Grafton. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be at the church today from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
