Rosalie M. Herriges, 97



Rosalie M. Herriges, nee Mancheski, of West Bend, died on Monday, June 17, 2013 at Ivy Manor at the age of 97. She was born on Nov. 17, 1915 in Green Bay to the late Andrew and Josephine (nee Rozmarynoski) Mancheski.

As a young adult, she worked at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay. After moving to the West Bend area in 1936, she worked at the Samaritan Health Center as a baker and later at Regal Ware.

On Nov. 11, 1939, she was united in marriage to Jerome J. Herriges at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Green Bay. The couple settled on a farm in St. Michaelís, which they operated together for 47 years. In 1987, they moved to West Bend. Jerome predeceased June 4, 2001.

She was a member of St. Michaelís Parish for 40 years, an honorary member of the Christian Womenís Confraternity at St. Michaelís and later became a member of St. Frances Cabrini Parish.

Rosalie was an avid card player and enjoyed going on trips and gambling. She loved gardening, babysitting, bowling, and baking apple pies and sweet rolls for the St. Frances Cabrini rummage sale.

Survivors include five children: Lloyd (Marian) of Kewaskum, Judy (Paul) Strasser of Stratford, Mary (Rich) Kutscheid of Pewaukee, Virginia Kurtzweil of Edgar, Patricia (John) Metrish of West Bend and Donna (Richard) Wallner of Saukville; 17 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband of 62 years and her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter-inlaw Diane Herriges, one sonin- law Ken Kurtzweil, one granddaughter Lisa, eight brothers and six sisters.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 21 at noon at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Michaelís Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church only on Friday from 9:30-11:45 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Frances Cabrini Parish or to the charity of the donorís choice are appreciated.
