Janet Dorothy Leverenz, 79, of Green Valley, Ariz., a died peacefully at the University of Arizona Medical Center in Tucson, Ariz., on Feb. 26, 2013. She was born on June 6, 1933, in Sheboygan and was a graduate of North High School. She married John Leverenz on Dec. 3, 1955. They recently celebrated 57 years of marriage. She was an employee of the West Bend School District where she worked until retirement. Janet was a long-time resident of West Bend and a seasonal resident of Three Lakes, Wis. and Green Valley, Ariz.
Janet was very active in her community and loved socializing, volunteering, and interacting with others in many activities including water aerobics, golf, pottery, and Mah Jongg. Janet is survived by her husband, John Leverenz, her son, Steven Leverenz (Joan) of Minneapolis, daughter Lynn Benn (Bill) of Stevens Point, daughter Barbara Scott (Wayne) of Houston, and daughter Caryn Miller (Dave) of Dardenne Prairie, Mo., as well as nine grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers, John Dottai of Reno, Nev., and Robert Dottai of Rockland, Calif..
An informal memorial celebration is being held in Green Valley, Ariz. on March 1. A future memorial celebration in Wisconsin is being planned for May. Donations can be made in loving memory of Janet Leverenz to a charity of your own choice.
