Anne L. Becker
L. Becker (nee Kieckhafer), 82, of Big Cedar Lake died peacefully with her
family at her side Thursday, March 7, 2013, at the Lighthouse of West
Bend. She was born Oct. 26, 1930, in West Bend to the late Albert C. and
Lorena (nee Cooley) Kieckhafer and married Robert Z. Becker on June 18,
1955, at Holy Angels in West Bend.
Anne was a lifelong resident of West Bend. After attending West Bend
schools she graduated from Beloit College with a degree in music. She was
an accomplished flutist and pianist. While working at WBKV radio station
she met her future husband Bob. Following their marriage Anne dedicated
her life to raising their three daughters.
Anne was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing bridge. She volunteered as a
Girl Scout leader and helped in the school library while her daughters
were in school. She was a member of the West Bend Women’s Club.
Throughout her life, Anne enjoyed summers on Big Cedar Lake at her
parents’ cottage and later moved to the lake with her husband.
Anne is survived by her husband of 57 years, Bob, three daughters: Bonnie
(Tom Bottolene) Pepperwolf of Red Wing, Minn., Laura (Tom) Lichtfuss of
Oshkosh and Karen M. Becker of West Bend; and eight grandchildren: Shannon
and Emily Rooney; Andy and Teenie Lichtfuss; and Hannah (Jason) Jahn,
Lindsay, Laura and Angie Emanuel. She was the proud great-grandmother of
Micah. Anne is further survived by her brother Allan Kieckhafer of West
Bend and nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Lorena Kieckhafer, her
sister, Mary, brother-in-law Walter Schlaugat, and her sister-in-law, Jean
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 11, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Fifth
Avenue United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jeremy Deaner officiating.
Entombment will follow in Washington County Memorial Park. Visitation will
be Monday, at the church from 1-1:45 p.m. Memorials to the Columns
Scholarship are appreciated.
