Joyce Augusta Prose (nee Heidmann), age 87, passed away on Tuesday, March
19, 2013. She was born on April 10, 1925, in Reitbrock, Wis., and was
raised in Athens, where she graduated from Athens High School. She enjoyed
traveling, reading, going to rummage sales, and enjoyed watching Wheel of
Fortune. She was devoted to her church and loved spending time with her
Joyce is survived by her loving children, Kathleen (Leonard) Berg of West
Bend, Edward Salefske of West Bend, Randolph (LeeAnn) Salefske of
Crestview, Fla., and Ronald (Sally) Salefske of Blair, Okla.; eight
cherished grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and sisters Ruth Heldt
and Irene Curtis. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other
relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Edward Salefske, Lyman
Smith, and Bobby Prose; children, Calvin Salefske and Beverly Orr; three
brothers and three sisters. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday,
March 22, 2013, at noon at First Baptist Church (2300 S. Main St., West
Bend) with the Rev. Bruce Dunford presiding. The visitation will be at the
church on Friday, March 23, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at
noon. Memorials to the Samaritan Health Center 531 E. Washington St. West
Bend, WI 53095 are appreciated.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the caring staff
at Samaritan Health Center and Seasons Hospice and also to Sharon Gahan
for all her caring and support.
