James L. Hoehn II, 45, died unexpectedly at his home in Slinger, on Sunday, March 24, 2013. He was the son of James Lloyd and Joan Marie Layman Hoehn. Jim was born in Urbana, Ill., on Jan. 13, 1968. He lived most of his youth in Marshfield, graduating from Marshfield Senior High School in 1986. He attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison and graduated in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science – history degree. Jim also obtained a Master’s of Business Administration from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and the Certified Investment Analyst (CIMA) designation from Wharton School of Business. He married Tricia Ann Bernarde of West Bend, on Aug. 2, 1997.
Jim was a strategic business consultant for SII Investments, headquartered in Appleton. He had more than 18 years of experience in the financial services industry, including more than 15 years of sales and relationship management experience, and more than 10 years as a wholesaler for Strong Capital Management, Curian Capital and Goldman Sachs. Jim enjoyed hunting, boating, and spending time with his friends He is survived by his wife Tricia and two daughters, Amanda Jodell (11) and Jocelyn James Hoehn (9). He is further survived by his parents and siblings, David Henry (Danette Hurst) Hoehn of Orange, Calif., Rebecca Lynn Hoehn of Minocqua, Judith Eileen (Ryan) Cliver of Woodruff, Daniel Charles Hoehn of Minocqua and Martha Marie (Brian) Haynes of Elkhorn. Also surviving Jim are his father and mother-in-law, Charles and Mardell Bernarde of Slinger, brother and sisterin- law, Daniel (Julie Heinrich) Bernarde of Hartford, many nieces, nephews, and his dog, Madison.
The visitation will be held at Still Waters United Methodist Church (3617 Scenic Road, Jackson, WI 53037) on Saturday, March 30 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the college funds that are being set up for Amanda and Jocelyn, checks can be made payable to “College America.”
