Alice J. Herman, nee Wiedmeyer, 99, of the town of Wayne, passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at Lomira Hope Health and Rehabilitation Center in Lomira.
She was born on July 4, 1913, in the town of Herman to the late Frank and Rose (nee Hug) Wiedmeyer Sr. On Oct. 4, 1948, Alice was united in marriage to Willmer Herman at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Nenno.
She was a former employee of the Amity Company in West Bend. She was a member of St. Anthony’s Christian Women and the quilting club in Allenton. Alice enjoyed playing cards, cooking, gardening and sewing.
She is survived by her husband, Willmer; her two sons, David (Sue) Herman of Kohlsville and Jerry (Sue) Herman of Kewaskum; five grandchildren, Tim (Tracy) Herman, Keith (Bonnie) Herman, Ryan (Missy) Herman, Scott (Jamie) Herman, and Brandon (friend Tabitha) Herman; 10 1/2 great-grandchildren, Teagan, Tierney, Kyra, Brady, Alyce, Maxwell, Samuel, baby on the way, Trent, Karlee, and Wyatt; three sisters, Rita Weisner of West Bend, Mildred Weiland of Campbellsport, and Rosemary Bonlender of Allenton; two sisters- in-law, Bernice Wiedmeyer of Theresa and Clara Wiedmeyer of Missouri; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Hilda (Gilbert) Brodzeller, and Theresa (John) Hembel; and four brothers, Ray, Frank Jr. Leonard, and Harold (Florence) Wiedmeyer; and a brother-in-law, Norbert Weiland.
A funeral service in remembrance of Alice will be held on Monday, April 1 at 5:30 p.m. at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, 6438 Highway D, Allenton. The Rev. Steve Bode will officiate. Burial will follow in Zion Church Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Monday from 2:30 p.m. until the time of service.
