Harvey E. Beck, 78


A funeral service for Harvey E. Beck, of Grafton, will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church South Mequon, 10001 N. Cedarburg Road, Mequon. The visitation will take place on Saturday, at the church from noon until the time of the service. The Rev. Stanley Weinrich will officiate the funeral service. Interment will take place immediately following the service in the church cemetery, with full military honors to be performed.

Harvey passed away at the Lasata Care Center in Cedarburg on April 27, 2013, at the age of 78.

Harvey was born on July 16, 1934, in Saukville, the son of Phillip Beck and Norma (nee Merten) Beck. He graduated from Cedarburg High School, in 1952, and shortly thereafter joined the U.S. Navy, in June of 1952. In July, of 1955, Harvey was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy.

Harvey was united in marriage to Sherron (nee Treichel) Beck on Oct. 12, 1957, at Shiloh Lutheran Church, in Milwaukee. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Terri and Todd.

Harvey was employed by Carlson Tool and Die, in Cedarburg, where he worked as a machinist for over 30 years, until his retirement.

Harvey enjoyed boating, fishing, teaching children to water ski, taking his children to Pike Lake when they were younger and spending time with his family up north on their family vacations. He had a love for fixing anything that he could get his hands on, and could be depended upon to fix anything correctly.

Harvey is survived by his children, Terri (Bill) Buchholz and Todd (Lori) Beck; grandchildren, Renee Buchholz, Matthew Buchholz, Austin Beck, Haley Beck, and Blake Beck; mother-in-law, LaVerne Treichel; sister-inlaw, Jill (Dennis) Walsh; brother-in-law, Jack Treichel; and special friends and neighbors, Floyd and Pat LaRocha. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Harvey was preceded in death by his wife, Sherron Beck; his parents; sister, June Ehaney; father-in-law, Donald Treichel; and sister in- law, Nancy Treichel.
