Virginia V. Blodgett, 91


Virginia V. Blodgett, 91, of Hartford, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at the Wellington Place, surrounded by her loving family.

Virginia was born Dec. 6, 1921, in Allenton to Charles and Clara (nee Lischka) Kueffer. She married Wayne Blodgett on Oct. 4, 1952, at St. Kilian’s Parsonage in Hartford, who preceded her in death November 2001. Virginia was a longtime member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church and member of the Christian Women. She will be remembered as a loving mom and proud grandma, who also enjoyed playing card games and gambling at casinos.

Virginia is survived by her children Charles (Judith) Blodgett of Mayville, Carol (Jerry) Euler of Shell Lake, Janis (Greg) Hefter of Slinger, Jeffery (Tammy) of Peoria, Ariz., and Kenneth (Brenda) of Waterford; her grandchildren Jessica (Greg), David, Christopher (Sarah), Renee, Amy, Tony (Cassie), Clarissa (Jorgan), Jennifer (special friend Tim), Dan (special friend Jen), Justin (special friend Maria), Tyler (Vandy), Ryan, Tiffanie (Matt), Jeremy (Kelsey); 13 great-grandchildren; siblings James Kueffer of Sun Prairie, Anna Lou Mootz of Portage, and Fredrick Kueffer of Rio; siblings in­law Juenne Kueffer of Portage, Mary Ann Kueffer of Waunakee, Delou “Red” Blodgett of Elkhorn, Katherine Wurtz of Janesville, and Marceline (Elmer) McCoulloch of Whitewater. She is further survived by other dear relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Wayne, and brothers Arnold, Alvin and Robert Kueffer.

Mass of Christian Burial for Virginia will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2013, at 12:30 p.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 4886 Highway 175, St. Lawrence, with the Rev. Davies Edassery and the Rev. Richard Hart officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends on Saturday at the church from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Lawrence Catholic Church or to the charity of one’s choice appreciated.

Interment will take place following Mass at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hartford.
