A. Ernst was born to eternal life on Friday, May 3, 2013, at the age of
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Ernst; son, Walter
Ernst; and grandchildren, Alan Fiedler, Steven Ernst, Robert Ernst and
Elsie was born on April 1, 1923, in Freistadt, the daughter of Bernard
Schoessow and Rose (nee Lueder) Schoessow. She was united in marriage to
Elmer J. Ernst on Aug. 21, 1943, at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church
Freistadt. Their marriage was blessed with seven children.
She is survived by her children, Barbara (Larry) Fiedler of Prospect,
Conn., Sandra Ernst Anderson of Saukville, Nancy (Al) Vitse of Grafton,
Greg (Susan) Ernst of Mequon, Kevin Ernst of Mequon, and Mark (Laurie)
Ernst of Belvidere, Ill.; and daughter- in-law, Cheryl Ernst of
Pewaukee. Elsie was blessed with grandchildren, Scott (Mary) Ernst of
Pleasant Prairie, Paul (Farrah) Fiedler of Cheshire, Conn., Dr. Ben
(Melissa) Ernst of Appleton, Jacob Ernst of Waukesha, Nick (Liz) Vitse
of Grafton, Tyler (Lindsay) Vitse of Grafton, Chris Anderson of
Janesville, Alexa (fiancÚ Ben Bloomer) Ernst of Minneapolis, and Brady
Ernst of Madison; and great-grandchildren, Timothy, Hayley, and Kyle
Fiedler; Ryan, Annalee, and Drew Ernst. She is further survived by
sisters, Lillian Stern of Thiensville, Bernice Werner of West Bend,
Cecelia Schoessow of Fort Collins, Colo.; a brother, Gerhardt (Dorothy)
Schoessow of Mequon; brothersin- law, Elroy Ernst and John (Marie)
Ernst; and sisters-in-law, Norma Schoessow, Ruth Knuth, Alice Frenz,
Gert Ernst, and Irmgard (Les) Tews.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2013, at 2 p.m. at
Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church Freistadt. Interment will take place at
Trinity Ev. Lutheran Cemetery Freistadt. Visitation will be on Thursday
at the church from noon until the time of the service.
