Jean Lange, 76
Mass of Christian Burial will be held today, May 14, 2013, at 6 p.m. at
St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1619 Washington St., Grafton, for Jean (nee
LaBranche) Lange of Grafton, who passed away peacefully on Thursday, May
9, at Horizon Inpatient Hospice in Mequon at the age of 76. Visitation
will be held at the church on Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. Burial
will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery in Grafton.
Jean was born in Escanaba, Mich., on Feb. 6, 1937, to Alfred and Marian
(nee Finley) LaBranche, who both preceded her in death. She married
Roger Lange on Dec. 26, 1959, in Escanaba.
Jean was the music director at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in
Saukville for the past eight years. She also was the music director at
Christ Church and St. James Catholic Church both in Mequon, along with
many other churches throughout the United States. She was a member of
the choir at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Grafton, she sang for the
Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra for 22 years and also she was a docent for
the Milwaukee Symphony. She was a music teacher for many years in the
Cudahy School District. She was a member at West Bend Country Club,
Water Wonders at Elite River Glen, Ozaukee County Women Golf League, and
a volunteer for COPE. Jean is survived by her husband, Roger, of
Grafton; children, David (Christine) of Thiensville, Lisa Lange (Joe
Garstecki) of Mequon and Daniel (Clare) of Brookfield; grandchildren,
Christopher and Jennifer Lange of Milwaukee, Sarah and Ben Garstecki of
Mequon, Nick Garstecki of Milwaukee, Heather Garstecki of Cedarburg,
Tommy, Michael, Conor and Brendan Lange of Brookfield;
great-granddaughter, Hailee of Cedarburg; sister, Rosemary Simonis of
Neenah; and brother, John (Phyllis) LaBranche of Escanaba. She is
further survived by other relatives and friends.
