Eleanor Horn, 96|
Eleanor Horn, nee Zwingenberger, of West Bend died on Friday, May 10, 2013, at the Cedar Lake Health and Rehabilitation Center at the age of 96 years. She was born on Aug. 11, 1916, in Milwaukee to the late Arno and Martha (nee Neugebauer) Zwingenberger.
On Dec. 14, 1940, she was united in marriage to Herbert Horn in Milwaukee. She treasured their 46 years together, and their many opportunities to enjoy the natural wonders of Wisconsin and the United States. She delighted in spending time with her family. Herb predeceased Eleanor on Aug. 23, 1986.
For the past 33 years, Eleanor was a resident of Cedar Community in West Bend. She lived a full life. She is remembered by her family and friends for her loving friendship and baking skills including kuchens, yeast doughs, chocolate chip and Christmas cookies.
Survivors include their two sons Robert (Esther Anne) and Ronald; granddaughters Lynn (David) Gill and Laura (Steve) Sirois and six great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one brother Ralph (Dorothy) Swing.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Friday, May 17 in the chapel at Cedar Bay West beginning at 2 p.m. with a memorial service in celebration of Eleanor’s life to follow at 3 p.m. The service will be officiated by Chaplain David Stone and Bev Hanson.
