Alma ‘Bunny’ Marsells, 86

Alma Elizabeth “Bunny” Marsells, of West Bend, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013, at the age of 86 years.

Alma was born in Kingsport, Tenn., on April 29, 1927, the daughter of the late Almer and Effie Hilton. She is survived by loving brother Richard (Nancy) Hilton.

Alma was an amazing woman with an unsurpassed zeal for life and new experiences. Her independent spirit was an inspiration. She was sweet, kind, loving, and a source of comfort and encouragement.

She lived a rewarding life, was proud of her membership in the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and always cherished time with family and friends. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, and worked and volunteered at Washington County Historical Society and many other genealogical societies. She worked at Mars, Inc., owned a trucking firm and was involved in transportation for many years. She also worked at the Senior Center Greed Club. Alma and Bill owned A Happy Memory where they were antique dealers for many years.

Alma was active with Steinmetz Alumni, Cedar Ridge, Red Hats and enjoyed playing cards, Greed, cribbage, and swimming or what the group had planned. Alma had a zest to participate in daily activities, was always loving and supportive, not allowing her visual challenges to hold her down. Having raised seven daughters, being active with Girl Scouts, working, crafting and volunteering made her proud. Heaven has our angel now. We will cherish the memories that were created and will miss her dearly.

Alma is preceded in death by loving husband William Bernard. Survived by her daughters Roberta (late Mark Blavat) Marsells, Diana (late Dave) Hill, Elizabeth (Joseph) Ilnicki, Maryhelen (James) Misicka, Marguerite (James) Blondell, Alma (Mark) Cashion and Linda O’Malley.
