Sherry L. Arndt, 55

Sherry L. Arndt, 55, of Big Falls, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013, at her home surrounded by her loving family. The former Sherry Lynn Tock was born on Feb. 28, 1958, in West Bend to Robert and Doris (Zautcke) Tock, a date shared with her Grandma Zautcke, with whom she was very close.

She graduated West Bend West High School in 1976, and went on to Gogebic Community College, where she earned her LPN degree as one of the top students in her class. Sherry was united in marriage on Oct. 19, 1996, to Dennis R. Arndt at St. Peterís Lutheran Church, Big Falls. Her passion can be seen in the 22 years she dedicated to caring for the elderly between Greentree Health and Rehabilitation Center of Clintonville and Iola Living Assistance.

She enjoyed knitting, gardening, sewing creations such as her own wedding dress, was an avid fisherman and loved braving the frozen tundra to go ice fishing. She was also able to see one of her dreams come true when she and her husband built their beautiful new log home, where they lived happily for the last six years. Her favorite time of year was Christmas and she even stayed in this world long enough to see the first decorations go up around the house. She is survived by husband Dennis Ray, daughter Vanessa Peterson of Seattle, parents Robert and Doris Tock of Iola; brothers Michael and Karen Tock of Sheboygan, Gary and Mary Tock of West Bend, Jeff and Reta Tock of Horicon, Jim Tock of Manitowoc, and Kevin Tock of Hartford; cousin Chris, who was like a sister to her; godson and nephew Jeremy, as well as 25 other adoring nephews and nieces, four children and three grandchildren through marriage, and faithful pets Riley and Snickers.

Funeral service will be held on Sunday, Nov. 17 at 4 p.m. at St. Peterís Lutheran Church, Big Falls. The Rev. Janice Kuder will officiate and private burial will be on Monday at the Big Falls Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 2 p.m. until time of service at the church.
