Ruth I. Yanke, 91
Ruth I. Yanke (nee Dahlinger) passed away on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013, at the age of 91 Ruth was born on Sept. 18, 1922, in Lincoln, Neb., to Alex and Pauline (nee Koch) Dahlinger. She married Walter “Wally” Yanke on April 18, 1942, in Milwaukee. They were proudly married for 70 years before he preceded her in death on Oct. 21, 2012.
Ruth enjoyed embroidering and baking. Her family always looked forward to her arrival with excellent desserts in hand.
Ruth was incredibly devoted to her family. She took care of Wally throughout his illness and she cherished every moment she could with him. She loved to see her family tree blossom, and enjoyed all the time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ruth is survived by her son Jeffrey (Bonnie) of Cedarburg; grandchildren Jason (Colleen) of Gleason, Jeremy (special friend Jen) of Neenah, Joshua of Adell and Justin (Melissa) of Port Washington; and greatgrandchildren Jon and Jordan Yanke, Nolan Podlipsky, Jillian Yanke, Ella Yanke, and Nora Yanke. She is further survived by her sister-in-law Lorna Forbes, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.
Ruth is preceded in death by her husband Wally, parents Alex and Pauline Dahlinger, in-laws Ernst and Alma Yanke, brother Fred Dahlinger, four brothers-inlaw and two sisters-in-law.
A funeral service for Ruth will be at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013, at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel, 1420 W. Paradise Drive in West Bend. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4-5:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013. Memorials are appreciated to the American Heart Association (7272 Greenville Avenue, Dallas TX 75231).
