Hildegarde C. Weber

Hildegarde C. Weber of Hartford was Born to Eternal Life on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013, at the age of 85 years. She was born Oct. 2, 1928, in Cudahy, the daughter of Joseph and Catherine (nee Hölzl) Wegerbauer.

Hilda will be remembered most for the way she embraced life. She found great joy in watching birds and butterflies flitter about, clouds sail across the sky, seasons change, and her grandchildren grow up. Hilda enjoyed simple pleasures like a cup of hot chocolate or coffee with a friend, the feel of knitting needles in her hands, the warmth of the sun on her back and the satisfaction of completing a word search puzzle. She knew how to turn challenges into opportunities. Hilda loved deeply — her husband, her family and friends, and her Savior — Jesus. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her sister-in-law Donna Wegerbauer and her grandson Shane Doll. Hilda is survived by her husband of 57 years, Earl, whom she married in 1956 at St. Fredrick’s in Cudahy; her children Joseph Weber of Iowa, Thomas Weber of Oshkosh and Catherine (Lawrence) Lensmith of Iron Ridge; her grandchildren Angelena, Faith and Isaac Lensmith, Lisa, Ryan and Andrew (Julie) Weber, and Tyler, Tom and Lisa Weber; her great-grandchildren Lucus and Madyson; her sister Rosemary Bruno; and her brothers Joseph (Rose) Wegerbauer and Leo (Mary Lou) Wegerbauer.

Family will receive relatives and friends Tuesday, Oct. 22, from 1-3 p.m. at the Basilica of Holy Hill, followed by Mass of Resurrection at 3 p.m. in the main church. The Rev. Cyril Guise, OCD, will officiate. Interment at St. Augustine Cemetery, Hubertus.

Memorials to St. Mary of the Hill Parish or the Basilica of Holy Hill would be appreciated.
