Patricia A. Baus, 75

Patricia A. “Pat” Baus (nee Schumacher) of Hartford, formerly of Rubicon, was Born into Eternal Life on Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2013, at the age of 75 years. Pat was born on Dec. 3, 1937, the daughter of Herbert and Bernadette (nee Becker) Schumacher, in Hartford. She was raised on a farm in Rubicon and attended St. John’s Catholic School, graduating with the Class of 1955. After high school she was employed as a secretary at Kissel Attorney Law Office and Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company. Pat met Robert Baus and they were married on July 9, 1960, at St. John’s Catholic Church of Rubicon. They resided in Hartford and started a family. Bob and Pat took over the family business from Bob’s parents, Baus Meat Market, and expanded from the Hartford location, to a second, in Allenton. Pat held many different job titles, for the roles she partook within the business, from covering day to day office work and bookkeeping, to helping on the floor with customers. Pat thoroughly enjoyed Bob’s endeavors, and was his best friend for 46 wonderful years, until his passing on April 7, 2007. She had a fondness for helping others and a deep love for Christ that showed in her activities at St. Kilian Catholic Church. Pat taught religious education classes for over 20 years and was involved in RCIA as an instructor and sponsor. Above all of her involvement with and in the community, just spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren, was by far the most precious gift she cherished.

Pat is survived by her loving children; Jack (Cyndi) of Menomonie, Jim (Colleen) of Hartford, and Eileen Baus of Lannon; Cherished grandma of Ben Baus, Andy Baus, Jake (Fiancée Olivia Abbott) Baus, and Allison (Friend Eric Schuetz) Baus; Fond sister and sister-inlaw of Mary Lou Gauthier, Jerry (Jeanette) Schumacher, Margaret Mary Schmitt, Cecilia (Dave) Dukelow, and Josephine Baus all of Rubicon and Rosemary (Frank) Brown of Hartford. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, godchildren, other relatives, and many friends. Pat was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bob, her granddaughter; Jillian Baus on Aug. 28, 1993, one brother; Ralph Schumacher, and three brothers-in-law Norm Gauthier, Peter Schmitt, and Norman Baus.
