Gerald E. Marvin, 76


Gerald “Jerry” E. Marvin, 76, of Hartford, passed away on Monday, Oct. 28, 2013, at the Kathy Hospice in West Bend, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on Feb. 16, 1937, in Columbus, Ohio, to Clara H. (nee Beck) and Harold Marvin. He married Ruby M. Halderman on Oct. 10, 1955, in Indiana. As a family, Jerry and Ruby moved from Ohio to Wisconsin in 1970 and have resided in Washington County ever since.

Jerry was an insurance consultant for many years at American Family and National Claims Adjustors. He enjoyed all Ohio State sports teams, was a great supporter of the Rubicon Baseball Team, especially loved the times watching his grandchildren play, and enjoyed his morning breakfast family at Perc Place.

Jerry is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Ruby Marvin; loving children, Jeri Lynn (Dave) Pfeil of Green Bay, Sue (Mark) Frank of Hartford, Mike (Laurie) Marvin of Kaukauna, Matt (Jodi) Marvin of Iron Ridge and Carri (Steve) Wagner of Hartford; six adored grandchildren, Brad Frank, Mike Marvin, Grant and Tyler Wagner, and Payton and Jack Marvin; also survived by many other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Clara Marvin, parents-inlaw, and his dear aunt Dorothy Berry.

A memorial service for Jerry will be held on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013, at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Family will greet relatives and friends from 5:30-7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Wisconsin Bandits Fast Pitch or to the Rubicon Red Sox are appreciated.
