Bernice M. Knop, 94|
Bernice M. Knop of West Bend died on Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013, at Riverway
Place at the age of 94 years.
She was born on Jan. 5, 1919, in West Bend to the late Otto and Anna
(nee Moll) Knop.
She attended St. John’s Lutheran Grade School and later graduated from
West Bend High School with the Class of 1937.
After her graduation, she began working at the former West Bend Aluminum
Company. During World War II, she was responsible for inspecting 22mm
shell casings for the U.S. Navy. She continued working until her

home. She also enjoyed traveling throughout the United States,
especially Hawaii, and Canada.
Bernice was an avid reader. She never missed an edition of The Daily
News. Her friendly “yoo-hoo” greeted people from her porch while reading

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Sept. 12 at 2 p.m. at the
Schmidt Funeral Home in West Bend with the Rev. David Kellerman
officiating. Burial will follow in Washington County Memorial Park.
Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 1-1:45 p.m.
