John R. Krantz, 72


John R. Krantz, 72, of Jackson died Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013, at the Kathy Hospice. He was born March 16, 1941, in Lyndon Station, to the late Herbert and Veronica (nee Plemon) Krantz and married Joyce B. Schellinger on June 25, 1960, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in St. Lawrence.

John was an active member of the St. Lawrence Fire Department for more than 25 years before becoming an honorary member. He worked for E.F. Brewer in Menomonee Falls for many years.

He was very active in his children’s and grandchildren’s sports. He loved camping and hunting and enjoyed playing cards at the senior center and with groups of friends.

John was a member of the West Bend Lodge 1398 Loyal Order of the Moose.

Those left behind to cherish his memory include his wife of 53 years, Joyce; five children: Laurie Ann Wagner of Jackson, Angela (Gregory) Hillman of Las Vegas, Nev., Roger (Marie) of Burnett, Randy (Suzy) of Waunakee and Bobbie Jean (Jack) Richards of Mequon; eight grandchildren: Josh (Kristie) Wagner, Amanda Hillman, Megan Hillman, Alyssa Krantz, Nicolette Krantz, Noah Krantz, Jeremy Diels and Jason Diels; and one
great-granddaughter Haley Wagner. He is further survived by three sisters- in-law: Teresa Krantz of West Bend, Leila Schulteis of West Bend and Annette Heck of Egg Harbor, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

John is preceded in death by his parents Herbert and Veronica Krantz and his four siblings: Herb, Joanne Wolf, Jerome and Judy Kreuser.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013, at 7 p.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in St. Lawrence, (4886 Highway 175, Hartford, WI 53027) with burial taking place Thursday at 10 a.m. in St. Lawrence Cemetery. The family will greet visitors on Wednesday, at the church only from 4-6:45 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the St. Lawrence Fire Department, the American Cancer Society or the Arthritis Foundation are appreciated.
