Virginia A. Wendorf, 83


Virginia “Ginny” A. Wendorf, 83, of Hartford, passed away peacefully at her home, on Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013, at the Gardens in Hartford.

Virginia was born Dec. 18, 1929, to Herbert and Leora (Canar) Hundt in the town of Rubicon. She was united in marriage to Wilhelm Wendorf on Sept. 26, 1959, at St. John’s in Rubicon.

Virginia was a lifetime member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Rubicon; where she took care of the flowers for over 15 years; she was a member of the Catholic Knights for more than 50 years and was part of the “Everyday Counts” cancer survivor group. Virginia loved spending time with her grandchildren, cooking and baking, flowers, and flea markets and rummage sales.

Virginia is survived by her children: Ronald Wendorf of Hartford and Roxanne (Thomas) Ksioszk of Jackson; and her granddaughters Ashley, Kayla, Amanda and Abby. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.

Virginia is preceded in death by her loving husband Wilhelm in June of 2012, her parents, her sisters Marie (Gilbert) Krueger and Victoria (Walter) Manke, and brother in-law Norbert Wendorf.

A funeral service for Virginia will be held on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013, at noon at the Shimon funeral home, with the Rev. David LaPlante officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends on Saturday from 10 a.m.-noon at the funeral home.

Interment will be at St. John’s Cemetery in Rubicon.
