Rosemary C. Gundrum (nee Wagner), age 96, of West Bend died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2014, at the Lighthouse of West Bend. She was born April 2, 1918, in the town of West Bend to the late Philip and Sophia (nee Thoma) Wagner and married Gilbert J. Gundrum on Sept. 28, 1940, at St. Matthias Church in Nabob. Gilbert preceded her in death on Dec. 16, 2007.
Rosemary and Gilbert moved to a farm in Goldendale in 1947 before moving to the current location of the Gundrum Brotherís Farm in 1954. For the past 2 1/2 years, she has been a resident at the Lighthouse.
She enjoyed spending time in retirement at their cabin in Crivitz. Mostly she loved her family and was extremely active with all the family events.
Rosemary is survived by her six children: Walter (Marlene) of Fond du Lac, Janet (special friend Herb Buettner) Youmans of West Bend, Mary (Robert) Ihlenfeld of West Bend, Mark (Arlene) of West Bend, Arleen (Ralph) Dornacker of West Bend and Jerry (Donna) of West Bend, 21 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She is further survived by 4 siblings: Sr. Helen Wagner of Milwaukee, Florence (Robert) Dymale of Albuquerque, New Mexico, the Rev. Vernon Wagner of Mt. Calvary and the Rev. Bernard Wagner of Appleton, her sister-in-law Audrey Wagner of West Bend and nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gilbert, a granddaughter Judy Ellenbecker, a great-grandson Mitchell Lepein, two brothers Roman and Edward (Martha) Wagner and a sister Marquerite (Sylvester) Scharrer.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, Dec. 1, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at Resurrection Catholic Church in Allenton. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. The family will greet visitors on Sunday, Nov. 30, at Resurrection Catholic Church in Allenton from 4 p.m. until a prayer vigil at 7 p.m. and also Monday from 9:30 a.m. until Mass.
