Harvey J. HoerigHarvey J. Hoerig, 91, of West Bend died Sunday, Dec. 28, 2014, at Ivy Manor in West Bend. He was born Aug. 15, 1923, in Hartford to Raymond and Pauline (nee Konrath) Hoerig and married Mary Elizabeth Hug on Sept. 6, 1947, at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Nenno. Betty preceded him in death on July 19, 2003.

Harvey worked for more than 25 years at the West Bend Co. where he was a member of the 25-year club.

He loved woodworking, watching and feeding the birds and battling squirrels.

His passion was polka music. He would often go to various polka festivals with his brother Roy and enjoyed attending the St. Lawrence Fireman’s Picnic and polka Mass.

Those who knew Harvey know he had a dry sense of humor and was well known for his one-liners. He enjoyed his independence and was very easy going.

Above all else Harvey loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his four children: Karen (Dale) Geib of West Bend, Kenneth (Patricia) Hoerig of West Bend, Shirley (Kenneth) McKee of Kewaskum and Joseph (Paula) Hoerig of Kewaskum; eight grandchildren: Scott (Carla) Geib, Randy (Lisa) Geib, Traci (Dan) Fischer, Chad (RyAnn) Hoerig, Melissa (Tom) Limbach, Sarah (Eric) Justman, Daniel (special friend Kira Schultz) Hoerig and Tyler (special friend Leah Domask) Hoerig; and 10 great-grandchildren: Kyle, Lucy, Cooper, Clayton, Brandon, Austin, Tayllor, Riley, Cole and Aubrey. He is further survived by his siblings: Sr. Ruth O.S.F. of Milwaukee and Roy of Menomonee Falls; brothers- in-law and sisters-inlaws: Bernadine Theusch, Grace Lamers, Darlene Beistle, Ronald (Gladys) Hug, Lawrence (Joyce) Hug, Fred Zimmel and Rosalie Hug; and nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Harvey was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Pauline Hoerig, his wife Betty Hoerig, his son Dennis, his grandson Tim McKee, his greatgrandson Parker Hoerig, his brother Ervin (Arlene) Hoerig, his sister Laverne (Harold) Feucht, and many brothers-in-law and sistersin- law.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, Jan. 5, 2015, at 6 p.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Kewaskum with the Rev. Ed Kornath presiding. Burial will be Tuesday in New St. Mary’s Cemetery. The family will greet visitors Monday, at the church only from 3-5:45 p.m.
