Helen Jagow, 90|
Helen Jagow, 90, of Port Washington, formerly of Fredonia, passed away
in the evening hours of Friday, Jan. 31, 2014, at Harbor Cove in Port
Washington. Helen was born in Anamoose, N.D., on Dec. 27, 1923, daughter
of the Rev. Reinhard Jagow and Esther Baese Jagow. The family moved to
the Fredonia area. Helen went to St. Johnís Lutheran School in Fredonia
and then attended high school in Random Lake, graduating in 1941.
Helen worked at several businesses, including Bolens Manufacturing, Port
Savings and Loan, and finally as an administrative assistant supervisor
for the Ozaukee County Public Health Department, retiring in 1989.
Helen was a long-time member of St. Johnís Lutheran Church in Fredonia
where she taught Sunday school, played the organ and was the choir
director for many years. She is also a former member of St. Johnís
Lutheran Church in West Bend. Helen enjoyed needlepoint, crafting,
crocheting, fishing, traveling and had a great love of music. She is
survived by her siblings Norman (the late Audrey) Jagow of Fredonia,
Concordia Muller of Jenison, Mich., and the Rev. Frederick (Lois) Jagow
Windsor, Calif. She is further survived many nieces and nephews, other
relatives and many, many friends. She is preceded in death by her
parents and siblings Ruth Scholz, Theodore Jagow and Phoebe Scholz.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 8, at 1 p.m. at St.
Johnís Lutheran Church, Fredonia. The Rev. Robert Zick will officiate.
Burial will take place in St. Johnís Lutheran Cemetery in Fredonia.
