Jeffrey E. Kruepke, 53

Jeff Kruepke entered this world on Aug. 31, 1960, born to the late Howard and Annette Kruepke. He passed away unexpectedly in his home on Feb. 2, 2014.

To tell the story of the life he lived, the words we write here will never do justice.

Jeff always said that trucking was in his blood. While other kids were playing with toy trucks, Jeff spent his childhood with the real deal at his family business, Kruepke Trucking. He carried his passion and knowledge into his role as executive director of Quad Transportation Services at Quad Graphics, where he devoted over 25 years of his professional life.

Beyond his career, Jeff wore many hats. He was a full-time husband and father, and he was so very good at it. Jeff was a second father to many (you know who you are). He was a part-time mechanic, paid in hugs and “thank yous” by his kids. He was a devoted travel agent for family and friends with his nonprofit start-up, “Fun Jeff Vacations.” He gave the very best advice. He made us all laugh. Jeff’s signature saying was “less is more” … so here goes. He loved the Green Bay Packers, traveling, traveling some more, Diet Coke, Vic Ferrari, cheating at Mexican train dominoes, tinkering around the house, Captain Morgan Private Stock, “real good” music, Ford vehicles and his newest hobby, snowmobiling.

More than anything, Jeff loved his family. His truest love was Linda (Breuer) Kruepke, his wife of nearly 30 years. The love they shared on this earth was incredible; now, it is eternal. He was the proud father of “his girls,” Kayla and Kacy Kruepke, and his favorite son, Michael Kruepke. He will live on through them; they’ll make sure of it.

Jeff left big shoes to fill on this earth, but he is making sure that we know he isn’t far away.

Jeff is survived by eight brothers and sisters, John (Marian), Bob (Linda), Jim (Barb), Tom (Doreen), Mary (Steve) Plier, Bonnie, Dick and Nancy Kruepke. He is further survived by fatherin- law Thomas Breuer, and in-laws Michael (Jan) Breuer, Daniel (Koreen) Breuer, and Karen (David) Long. He is also survived by his beloved nieces and nephews, and many close friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Annette Kruepke, motherin- law Kathryn Breuer, and his brothers Daniel “Mooch” and Ken Kruepke.

Visitation will be held at St. Frances Cabrini Parish in West Bend on Thursday, Feb. 6 from 2-6 p.m., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 6:30 p.m. Burial will be held on Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Washington County Memorial Park.

The family has requested memorials to fund two causes. A portion will be set aside for Michael Kruepke’s college fund. The family would like to donate the rest of the memorials to our dear family friend and neighbor, Nicole, for cancer treatments.

The Schmidt Funeral home of West Bend is serving the family.
