Susan Flassig, 53

Susan “Susie” Flassig (nee Sauve), 53, of Kewaskum (formerly of Slinger), found eternal peace after a difficult battle with cancer on Jan. 30, 2014, at The Kathy Hospice.

She was born in Milwaukee to Jacque and Donna Sauve on May 7, 1960, and graduated from John Marshall High School. She married Michael Flassig on June 28, 1980.

She was employed as a teacher’s aide at Slinger Elementary, Lincoln Elementary in Hartford and Milwaukee Public Schools.

Susie was a very giving, caring and kind-hearted person. Her family was the most important thing in the world to her, especially her grandsons. She will be missed immensely. Heaven just received an amazing angel!

She is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, Michael; cherished children, Shannon (Jason) Anderson and Chad (Kristin) Flassig; adored grandsons, Brenden, Brady, Carter, Colton, Lincoln, JJ, Jon and Ashton; mother, Donna (nee Bahr) Sauve; siblings, James (Darlene) Sauve, Donald Sauve, Debra Helms, Cynthia (Audey) Frank and Kelly Sauve; and her beloved dog, Sadie Sue. She is further survived by her godchildren, Michelle and Taylor Frank, Aunt Kay Hoerres, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her father, Jacque Sauve; brother-in-law, James A. Helms; and sister-in-law, Patricia Sauve.

The visitation will be held on Friday, Feb. 7, 2014, from 3-5:45 p.m. at Still Waters Community Methodist Church (3617 Scenic Road, Jackson, WI 53037). The funeral service will be held at Still Waters Church on Friday, Feb. 7 at 6 p.m. with the Rev. Matt Hadley presiding. Entombment will take place at Washington County Memorial Park on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014, at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, Susie requested donations to Breast Cancer Research Foundation or the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation. Also, per Susie’s request, wear casual attire (your favorite jeans).
