Marvin V. Bruni, 87


Marvin V. Bruni, 87, of Hartford found eternal rest on Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014, at Cedar Lake Reh abilitation Center, West Bend.

Marvin was born on Oct. 9, 1926, in Iron Ridge, to Carl and Karolena (nee Wittwer) Bruni.

He was united in marriage to his late wife LaVerne Stockfleth on Nov. 15, 1947, at Peace Lutheran in Hartford. On May 25, 1991, Marvin was united in marriage to Joyce Gardebrecht at Peace Lutheran Church.

He enjoyed singing in the community choir, being one of the founding members, as well as singing with Divine Savior Lutheran Church choir. Along with his passion for music, Marvin was a pilot, a volunteer at the Wisconsin Automotive Museum in Hartford and a member of Hartford Senior Friends.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Joyce Bruni; loving children, Catherine Krueger and Susan Bruni of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Linda (David) Kling of Richfield, and Robert (Jayne) Gardebrecht of Menomonee Falls; cherished grandchildren, Matthew (Julie) Kling, Michael (Megan) Kling, Alan (Samantha) Gardebrecht, Brenda Gardebrecht, Elizabeth (Dustin) Bricker and Joel (Jamie) Krueger; treasured great-grandchildren, Josh, Lauren and Ella Bricker. He is further survived by other dear relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Karolena Bruni; his wife, LaVerne Bruni; his brother, Milton (Grace) Bruni; and an infant son and daughter.

Funeral services for Marvin will be held on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, at 4 p.m. at Divine Savior Lutheran Church (3200 Highway K, Hartford, WI 53027) with the Rev. Douglas Stowe officiating. Family will greet relatives and friends on Saturday from 2-4 p.m. at the church.

Inurnment at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hartford, will take place in spring.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Divine Savior Lutheran Church or to the charity of oneís choice are appreciated.

Marvinís family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff at Cedar Lake Rehabilitation Center for the wonderful care he received.
